What are your dreams and goals?

Big question right?

Well, I love to hear big answers! If your dreams don’t excite the hell out of you, are you dreaming big enough?

What do you want to achieve? Don’t downplay it. If you want to be the most successful entrepreneur you know, brilliant! Want to write a screenplay, home-school your kids or even start a family? Great! Want to win a Golden Globe or become a bestselling author? Go for it!

Who am I to think I can achieve this?

It’s so easy to play small when it comes to our dreams. Fear of failure or what other people might think can keep us stuck and feeling paralysed, unable to take the next step towards our dreams.

We think, ‘who am I to think I can achieve this’?

Who are you? You are YOU! And you know what? Whatever it is you want to achieve has most likely been done by someone before. Another human being! Not some superhero with incredible powers. By someone who was bold enough to take action, put their dream out there in the world and was relentless in pursuit of it.

And because they did it, you know that meant you can do it too!

You don’t have to tell the whole world your plan. You dream is your dream – not theirs. Worried about the haters or those people who will tear your dream down? Don’t freaking tell them! Work away behind the scenes and then share it with the world (if you want to).

If you do want to tell someone – even if just for accountability’s sake – confide in a friend, coach or heck, even a social media group where you know you’ll be met with positivity and buddies who will have your back.

By other people working towards their dream lives.

By people who have no interest in tearing you down.

Nothing changes

So, why am I telling you to dream big? Haven’t you heard that from one million people online before. Sure you have! But someone out there needs to read this today.

Someone has a dream that they’re so scared of they’re not working on it.

Someone will put their dream off again and again until one day they wake up 10 years older and NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

Believe me. I know.

I recently wrote the first draft of my first book – a dream I’ve had since I was in single digits. I sat on this particular idea for over three years before I finally got the f*ck on with it!

And yes, I told myself soooo many stories.

I don’t have time.

I can’t write enough to fill a whole book – not on one subject anyway.

I have no place being an author.

What if I fail?

If I do finally write it, what if it doesn’t get published. Will I have wasted my time?

What will people think if they read it?

What if people don’t like it?

What if what if, what if…

Well, you know what? I finally wrote it anyway DESPITE my fears and excuses. It wasn’t fast and it wasn’t pretty, but my first draft is currently complete. Sure there’s still a lot of editing to do, but that’s my next challenge.

Bring it on I say. It’s just another step towards my ultimate dream and that excites the hell out of me!

So, what’s your dream and what are you doing to make it a reality?
